It’s time for a new playlist: Your Morning Mood Boost. I had sooo much fun curating A Mental Health Day Playlist for you, and it was so well-received (!), that I couldn’t wait to add more music into the mix at Ivory & Pine. This playlist is all about creating positive energy in the morning, during your commute, whenever you need it, in order to set yourself up for a great day. Music has such an incredible power to lift us up, tear us down, make us feel intense emotion, and so much more. This list isn’t nearly as “deep” as my last playlist, but I hope this one is a fun and light mood booster for you!
All of the song previews are through Spotify. If you have an account and are logged in on your computer, you’ll hear the whole song. If not, you’ll just get a short preview. The basic Spotify plan is free and it’s my favorite music listening platform (no affiliate links, just love). Download it here and follow me here to have access to all the playlists I upload for Ivory & Pine!
Here we go!!
Send My Love- Adele
You know it’s catchy. And also, this cover is totally amazing.
Hymn for the Weekend (Seeb Remix)- Coldplay, Seeb
Because remixes are really fun!
Can’t Stop the Feeling- Justin Timberlake
I mean seriously, how can you not start feel happy after this song?
Titanium- David Guetta, Sia
Think shower scene from Pitch Perfect. Belt your heart out!
A total self-esteem booster.
Cheap Thrills- Sia, Sean Paul
Sia is just interesting and the Sean Paul version has a fun, party vibe.
This song is just upbeat and enjoyable.
This one has a laid back, road trip kinda feeling. And also fun energy.
Ride- Twenty One Pilots
A lot of their songs have a darker mood, but Ride has a faux-reggae throwback that always gives me a boost.
Lemonade- Adam Friedman, Mike Posner
Beachy and bluesy.
Ah, the sweet sounds of being in love. I figure if you’re a cynic, you’re not going to like this list anyway. 😉
Hold My Hand- Jess Glynne
This song has great energy, and Jess has a killer voice!
I’m a growing EDM fan, so I tossed in this one as it’s pretty well known in the pop world as well. Go out there and be a hero…or something.
Best Day of My Life- American Authors
Obviously, a song with this title needs to be on a mood boosting playlist.
I’m Alive (Life Sounds Like)- Michael Franti & Spearhead
Michael Franti & Spearhead have several light, upbeat, beachy type happy songs. I love the whistling.
Brighter than the Sun- Colbie Caillat
Again with the cheery titles. Cheery title, cheery vibe.
Honey, I’m Good- Andy Grammar
Because I like to hear a song that discourages cheating once and a while…
Your Body Is a Wonderland- John Mayer
Still one of his catchiest songs, and his first big hit. Look how young he was!
Good Morning- Grouplove
Another group that frequently nails down positive energy.
Roses- The Chainsmokers
Ever prepped for a night out with your girls to this song? If not, you should.
Electric Love – BORNS
Another fun love song. I always like this one because it reminds me of when they opened for Of Monsters and Men last fall, which was AMAZING.
You Are the Best Thing – Ray LaMontagne
So happy! And I love the horns in the song, nice touch.
Is This Love (Remix)- Bob Marley and the Wailers, LVNDSCAPE, Bolier
I like two remixes of this song, and this is the more upbeat one.
The Heart – NEEDTOBREATHE
First of all, this song already made me bounce with joy. Second, if you watched Hart of Dixie you probably love this song because it’s the season finale everyone’s-happy-montage song.
Gorgeous – X Ambassadors
When he says “cause you make me feel so gorgeous” he’s singing to me, right?
Glory Days- Betty Who
Super fun 80s vibe.
Young Blood- The Naked and Famous
Because the intro is so great.
Sun Models – ODESZA, Madelyn Grant
The beat is both catchy and chill. I like ODESZA in general.
From Eden- Hozier
Probably the song on this list with the least upbeat lyrics. But it’s still good.
From the Day – I Am They
Because loving Jesus has given me so much joy that it’s hard not to sing!!
Hope this list brought a smile to your face and some positive energy for your day!!
